Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-06-15. Operator: THE TAX CUTTERY®, a Florida-based virtual tax practice. Contact: 1040@thetaxcuttery.com.

1. Scope

This policy covers thetaxcuttery.com and any inquiry, engagement, or document exchange initiated through it. It applies to U.S. residents and is written to be consistent with U.S. federal tax practitioner confidentiality rules (IRC § 7216 and § 6713), Treasury Department Circular 230, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act Safeguards Rule for financial institutions, and Florida consumer-protection law.

2. What we collect

3. How we use it

To respond to your inquiry, perform the tax work you have engaged us for, communicate about that work, and comply with IRS, Treasury, and state recordkeeping requirements. We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell it.

4. IRC § 7216 — taxpayer information

Under IRC § 7216 we may not disclose or use tax return information for any purpose other than preparing the return without your written consent in the form required by Treasury regulations. We will request that consent separately if a use ever requires it — for example, to share return data with a lender at your direction. Without that consent, we don't share.

5. SMS and phone

We do not collect SMS opt-ins through this site and will not text you marketing messages. The phone field on the inquiry form is used only to call you back about the matter you describe, at the number you provide, by appointment.

6. Sharing

We share information only:

We do not share information for marketing. We do not transfer taxpayer data outside the United States.

7. Security

Tax records are stored on access-controlled systems with disk encryption, multi-factor authentication on practitioner accounts, and the recordkeeping safeguards expected of an Enrolled Agent under Circular 230 § 10.36 and the GLBA Safeguards Rule for financial institutions handling taxpayer data.

8. Retention

Engagement records are retained for the period required by IRS recordkeeping rules and Florida statute, typically seven years from the close of the engagement, after which records are securely destroyed unless you request earlier destruction or later retention.

9. Your choices

10. Children

The site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

11. Changes

Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
